In 1996 HETRONIK released the first ever multi-channel heater controller, the HC200.
Its unique selling features include:
- fuse holders to be accessed without opening the product,
- amp measurement for each channel to detect broken heaters in heater groups
- build in voltage fluctuation compensation
- softSTART to protect against in rush current of short wave heaters (halogen lamps)
- the "HC-block" design, allows the HC200 to be mounted close to the heaters to save wiring and cost.
The HC200 outperformed its major competitor, the HS724.
The HC200 was our best seller for over 10 years.
We realized the 1'200 Watt per channel output of the HC200 was not sufficient for all heater applications and 230/400 3 phase voltage with Neutral is not a worldwide power supply standard. Therefore, we designed the SSR controller HC400 in 1999. Using the HC400, heaters or heater groups up to 50 Amps can be controlled between phase and neutral or between two phases with 230...480 Volts.
The US market liked the HC400 but also desired the built in triacs of the HC200. As a result the HC300 was born in 2001.
Also in 2001 we targeted KRONES with our short wave heater technology. The HC100 was the first ever multi-channel heater controller mounting directly on an amp rail system.
Like the HC200, the HC100 was years ahead of alternative solutions. The HC100s superior design and high volume sales unfortunately stimulated our competitors to copy the HC100 concept.
The HC500 heater controller family is the successor of HC100, HC200, HC300 and HC400 and again a technology leader.
We continue production of HC100, HC200, HC300 and HC400 to ensure spare part availability for the thousands of machines in operation with these products worldwide.
Due to a long lasting products, we manufacture only low volumes of spare parts, what was having a negative impact on the prices for old products. If you do price comparison, compare with the HC500 prices please.
